For women that experience weight gain in pregnancy, many wonder what they can do to help them feel better about themselves. Women are under immense pressure by society to look a certain way. When pregnant, the way a woman looks gets out of their control as the pregnancy naturally makes a woman's body gain weight. So what are some ways to help you deal with weight gain in pregnancy?

The first thing is to remember what the extra weight is for. That extra weight is for the little baby growing inside of you. If a little extra weight means a healthy baby, then bring it on! Most women gain between 20-50 pounds during pregnancy. This is completely normal as weight gain is essential to keeping mother and baby healthy.

One thing you can do to help you feel better about yourself is to do some light exercising. Exercising helps to release endorphins which will help you to feel better about yourself. Exercise will help you to feel like you are doing all you can to stay in shape, which will help you to deal with the natural weight gain in pregnancy.

The last thing to do is to stop worrying about it and checking your weight too often. Don't obsess about your weight as you will gain weight in pregnancy. One trick is to only step on the scale once a week, or better yet, once every two weeks. It's important to remember that its inevitable you will put on weight and vital to give your baby the best start in life.
